Community services - Lions fact: Lions helped form Guide Dogs for the Blind
We meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 8:00pm at Shah's Restaurant, Charlecote Road, Wellesbourne.

Apart from the fund raisers aimed at specific charities, we try to help out local good causes plus children and senior citizens. Below are some of the events we fund or assist with either financially or with our time:

February - Combrooke Players pantomime for senior citizens
April - Children's visit to Wicksteed Park
Early summer - Lunch and afternoon mystery tour for senior citizens

August - Transport provided for days out for disabled children
October - Children from Chernobyl - shoes buying trip
October/November - Senior citizens concert

In addition to these special events, we regularly contribute to worthy local causes e.g. Scouts, Medic Alert, certain personal hardships, school projects, disabled peoples projects, pre-schools etc. etc.

A recent extension to the Club's involvement with local communities is the creation of village representatives. These are Lions who are assigned an area which they look after - a contact point for those they serve. Please do not hesitate to call your village rep. if you think we can assist.
